Transition Morning - 7th July

The whole school transition morning will take place next Thursday. Children should come to their normal class for register, and will then spend the rest of the morning in their new class. This will help them to prepare for next September. We have also invited the new children in Willow class to join us for the morning.

Have you ever considered working in school? Or do you know someone who might be interested. We currently have vacancies in both schools. Working days and hours can be flexible. We are also exploring the possibility of training as an apprentice in this role. If you would like to discuss this further please speak to Mr Weights.

End of Year Production

The end of year production will take place in church on Tuesday 12th July. We will ask children to come back to school for 6pm, with the performance starting at 6.30pm.

Silver School Games Mark

We are delighted to have been awarded the Silver School Games Mark in recognition of the high levels of sport and activity undertake in our school. It has been great to get back to competitive sport following a break during the pandemic.

Interested in becoming a Teaching Assistant?

Here at WorkwithSchools we know what a trying year it has been for schools in getting the right TA support. We have been inundated with requests for both general teaching assistants and one to one support so in order to increase the number of candidates available for the next academic year, we are going to be running a FREE taster / refresher course for people who would like to update or improve their knowledge as well as prospective teaching assistants, designed to help them get a foot in the door. The session will set out the different roles in primary and secondary school settings, as well as the types of work available from general TA work to 1 to 1 SEN support. Participants will also be given the opportunity of a short placement in a local school – a fantastic way of building practical experience. If you know of any parent volunteers or others who may be interested in this, please would you spread the word and if numbers are high enough, we may run a second session at a later date. Any interested parties should contact us by emailing or call 01904 554195 to learn more or enrol.

Open Classrooms

Reminder we have an Open Classrooms event after school on Wednesday 13th July, where your child will be able to share their work with you.

FOSS Summer Fair

Don’t forget that FOSS are still requiring donations for the raffle/ tombola at the summer fair. If you are able to support by asking local attractions or businesses for donations we would be very grateful. Please bring any donations into the school office.

Please remember to bring your completed raffle tickets and money back to school asap.

Summer Holidays

We would just like to confirm that children will break up on Friday 22nd July. Monday 25th July is a training day so school is closed to pupils. For any future dates/events please check the calendar on our website.

School Lunches

Please see the Summer 2022 Lunch menu below. Next week we will be on Week 1 of lunches.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Packed Lunches - if you are sending grapes in your child's packed lunch, can you please ensure that these are cut in half.

This form should be completed by the parent/carer and returned to the school as far in advance as possible and preferably preferably with sufficient notice before the first intended day of absence.
