Collaboration and Coteaching
A recent study published in Teacher Librarian: The Journal for School Library Professionals illustrates the impact when teachers and media specialists work together. When teachers teach alone, they can expect 47% of their students to exceed their highest expectations for a learning experience. When they co-teach with a media specialist, that number jumps to over 75%. Another reason to work together!

Mrs. Rebecca Zarabi
I just finished reading Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson. This is a story, written in poems, about the author's life growing up in the segregated South and her experiences when her family moved North to Brooklyn. She also shares her how her love of writing eventually led her to become an award winning author. Here are some teaching connections for this title.
