Get Involved in Our School Community!
We are working HARD at Albert Schweitzer and are getting settled in our learning and classroom routines! I'm very proud of the transition our school community has made. We have some students and staff that have not been in-person at school for over 18 months! The grit, resiliency, and flexibility everyone is demonstrating is to be commended!
This year I encourage you to hit the 'reset' button and get involved in our school as many ways as you can. Supporting your children in the evening with homework, reading daily with them, communicating questions, highlights and concerns with teachers, and being a part of our PTO are easy ways to be involved in your child's learning. Below are some PTO events that you could participate in to help your child feel a part of the larger Schweitzer community:
- Participate in our current PTO fundraisers: Nothing Bundt Cakes &Duck Donuts
(Flyers sent home and also attached below) - Attend our Outdoor Movie Night Friday, 10/22 at 6:30 p.m.
- Sign up to be a member of our Albert Schweitzer PTO
- Attend our next PTO meeting via ZOOM on Wednesday, 11/3 at 6:30 pm
Thank you,
Dr. Amy Orlando
Principal

Please Participate: Title I Family Input Survey
At Albert Schweitzer ES we believe that success for our students can only be achieved when schools and families work together as a team. Please partner with us by providing feedback on our school's Title I Program. Follow the instructions below to give your input on our Parent and Family Engagement Plan, and Home School Compact, and take a brief survey to help us understand how to better meet your needs. Participating in Title I is as easy as 1-2-3! Below you will also see a copy of our 2021-2022 Home/School Compact.
Reedman-Toll Subaru, our local Subaru retailer, selected our school for this year’s Subaru Loves Learning initiative, which focuses on supporting education in local communities. Our school received a $3,000 credit through the nonprofit AdoptAClassroom.org so we can purchase the supplies our students need to succeed! We are proud to be one of 600 schools nationwide selected by Subaru retailers in support of more than 114,000 students. We look forward to an even stronger partnership with Reedman-Toll Subaru in the weeks to come.
Grade-level teachers were selected to work with their teams to decide on helpful supplies for their classrooms. Thank you for being rock star teacher leaders!

CARES Kick-Off
Albert Schweitzer staff and students met outside for a School Meeting on Friday, September 24th to talk about C.A.R.E.S., our Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Program. The C.A.R.E.S. acronym stands for Cooperation, Positive Attitude, Respect, Empathy, and Safety. Dr. Orlando began the School meeting together as a large group and then students in K-4 rotated through stations to participate in cooperative learning activities, learn how to be respectful to ourselves and others, understand how to have empathy for all, and practice ways to be safe in school. All of these activities were done in the sunshine with a positive attitude!
Mrs. Moyer assists students and families in managing the stress and challenges that we are currently facing. We appreciate all that she does for our school community.
