Ravine Drive Elementary School
November 2021
November Highlights
Dear Ravine Drive Families:
With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, the days seem to be flying by as we approach the end to the first marking period and the beginning of the holiday season! We have been very busy this month at Ravine Drive Elementary School. Please check out the information below for some of the highlights!
Month of Thankfulness: As part of our school's character education program, we will focus on particular themes every month. The focus this month has been on Thankfulness. As part of a schoolwide project, teachers will be reading Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree to their classes. Students will then create a Thankfulness Tree in our hallway, where every student will have a leaf to write down something for which they are thankful. Our tree is growing larger every day!
"Sock-tober" Sock Drive for Veterans: Thank you Ravine Drive families! Our students collected over 300 pairs of socks that were donated to the American Legion Post # 346 located in Neptune, NJ as a way to thank our Veterans for their service to our country. The American Legion Post will be distributing the socks to veterans throughout Monmouth County. They were incredibly appreciative by the efforts of our K-3 students.
Thanksgiving Food Drive: Ravine Drive Elementary School is collecting non-perishable food that will be donated to the Monmouth County Food Bank. Attached is a flyer that was sent home. If you would like to donate, please send non-perishable items that are in non-glass containers. Collections will take place during the week of November 15th - November 19th.
Thank you all again for your cooperation and support this school year!
Ms. Jessie Zitarosa
Principal
