Flu Clinics and Information

Vaccination Information

Talbot County Public Schools in partnership with the Talbot County Health Department is offering seasonal flu clinics this Fall. Clinics for middle and high school students will be held during the school day. Due to vaccinations being administered through injection, elementary school clinics will be held after school as a parent is required to attend. Check the schedule for the date of your child’s school’s clinic. Forms will be sent home from your school, and are available on the TCPS website and linked below. Please complete the forms and return them to your child’s school if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity.

The Talbot County Health Department recommends that we all take the following preventative actions:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Limit contact with others as much as possible when you are sick.
  • If you are sick, stay home if at all possible. CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, preferably with a tissue. Throw the tissue away. Do not carry it in your hand. If you do not have a tissue, sneeze or cough into the bend of your elbow.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Keep your hands away from your face. Germs are spread this way.

Let’s work together to keep our schools and families healthy!

The Talbot County Public Schools Education Foundation announces the second annual “Mission Possible – Celebrating TCPS Alumni and Supporting Teachers” fundraiser on Friday, November 15 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Milestone Event Center. The event will include a cocktail reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a reverse auction benefitting the foundation’s grants program. Mr. Sandy McAllister and Mrs. Eleanor “Tot” O’Mara will serve as Master and Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening.

The purpose of the event is to recognize distinguished alumni, celebrate Talbot County Public Education, and raise funds, awareness, and support for the Education Foundation. “We are very excited about this year’s event,” said Becky Firth, foundation Advisory Board Vice Chair. “This is an opportunity for TCPS Alumni and other members of the community to enjoy a fun evening together while supporting our teachers and students. Several teachers will be on hand to share their grant proposals so that guests can see first-hand examples of the innovative instructional initiatives that we are striving to fund.” Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased on-line at https://m-scf.networkforgood.com/events/11081-mission-possible or by calling Debbie Gardner at (410)822-0330, ext. 102.
