Principal's Message - A Change is Coming
I want begin this week's newsletter with genuine appreciation to you all for the tremendous effort you have put forward during distance learning. Many students have excelled in this model of learning. For others, the lack of in-person instruction has proven challenging.
After much consideration and discussion, the Pollock Pines Elementary School District is prepared to shift our schooling to a hybrid model beginning October 5th. If you have yet to do so, please take the time to read the attached hybrid parent letter sent out by our Superintendent, Pat Atkins last night. As he explains in this letter, more details will be provided to you next week so that you have adequate time to prepare for this shift.
Currently, many of our families have signed up for distance learning for the entire school year. If you are on this track please confirm with your teacher your intentions to either stay or exit the distance learning model. In addition, if your family originally intended to return to in- person instruction but now you feel that the year long distance learning program is a more appropriate fit for your child, please call the school office in the coming week so that we may accommodate your request.
The next two weeks will be devoted to solidifying our plans to safely welcome your child on campus. I thank you advance for your support as we pivot our instruction.
Respectfully,
Kim Little
