Homecoming Spirit Week

Our teachers had fun with Twin Day!! Tomorrow is Neon Day, so we hope to see lots of bright colors in the building! Let's show our school spirit!!

PSAT for 10th & 11th Graders

The Preliminary SAT or PSAT/NMSQT will be given at Hazel Green High School on October 29, 2020, to 10th and 11th grade students who choose to take the test. This is an optional test that provides practice for the SAT and serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for 11th grade students. The cost of the test is $20 and can be paid through MySchoolFees. Pay online and then sign up in the Guidance Office by October 21, 2020. Balfour on Campus

Balfour representatives will be in the cafeteria during lunch Wednesday and Thursday.

National Honor Society

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in learning more about membership in the Hazel Green High School chapter of the National Honor Society, please fill out this form by October 26th. Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Cole will be in touch with those who express interest regarding requirements and the application process.

FCA Leaders

If you are interested in becoming an FCA leader, please come to the interest meeting this Thursday at 8 a.m. in Mrs. Agee's room.

Spanish Club

Spanish Club will meet Thursday, October 15, at 3:35 in room C110. You may also attend via Google Meet with join code HGHS Spanish Club.

HOSA

HOSA will meet Friday morning before and after school in Ms. Thomson's room S210. Students only need to attend one meeting. Membership dues and form are due Friday. You can pay fees online or in person at the meeting.

Current Announcements

Attendance for Remote Learners: The Remote Learner Daily Attendance Form must be completed EVERY school day for a remote learner to be counted as present. This form can be found on the homepage of our website in the announcements section.

Track & Field: Indoor Track Tryouts will take place November 16th-19th at the HG track from 4:00 to 5:30. Outdoor Track Tryouts will take place the week we get back from Christmas Break, January 4th- 7th, from 3:45 to 5:15. If you will be participating in another sport at that time, you need to contact Coach Waddell or Ms. Harris to let them know your interest; you will be able to complete your tryouts after your current season ends.


DECA: Level up and join DECA!!! HG students interested in DECA, leadership skills, and marketing need to become an active member in DECA. Make sure you complete the DECA membership form and pay the dues ($20) by November 1. You can email Mrs. Miller with any questions (clmiller@madison.k12.al.us).

  • Make-up pictures for underclassmen will be taken on Wednesday, October 21.
  • Remote/virtual students (only underclassmen) may have their school pictures taken on Wednesday, October 21, after school until 5 p.m.


Free/Reduced Lunch Application: Apply for free/reduced lunch at the link below. While all students may eat school breakfast and lunch at no cost through December 31, 2020, we will need these applications on file for next semester.

Class Fees: Please check the HGHS Class Fee List to see if your child has any of these teachers/classes that require fees. Class fees can be paid online at MySchoolFees (no student ID number required) or by cash/check at HGHS.
*If you think you may qualify for a fee waiver, please complete the Class Fee Waiver Form and turn it in to your teacher or to the office.

School Forms: CLICK HERE for the school documents that you should review with your child. Once you have reviewed these documents, please CLICK this link to complete a form for your student. Once you submit this form, you will receive an email from "Formstack Sign" in which you will electronically sign acknowledgement of receipt of these documents.
Your child will also receive copies of the documents for signature, so please be sure your child checks his or her email and signs acknowledging receipt of the documents.

Online Application for Free/Reduced Meals: Online free and reduced meal applications are available at the link below for a faster, more confidential way to apply. A new application must be completed each school year to qualify for free or reduced meals. Your child's eligibility status carries over to the new school year for the first 30 school days, allowing parents time to re-apply. Only one application per household should be submitted, and everyone living in the house must be included on the application.
