Findley Flyer 3/2/23
Engage.Connect.Grow
Dear Findley Families,
Thank you for your donations for the Kids Heart Challenge/American Heart Challenge Program. We exceeded the goal of $20,000 and raised $22,355.53!
We are having a great Literacy Week celebrating our love of reading and writing. Thanks to Amy Rubin an Debby Sullivan for organizing this wonderful learning experience for our children!
There is still time to take the Annual Parent Perception Survey. The survey is anonymous and confidential and should take about 15 minutes to complete. Please complete one survey per school where you have one or more students enrolled. As of today, we only have 22% of our parents who have completed the survey. In order to have reliable data, we need at least 50% participation. The last day to complete the survey is Friday, March 10.
Thank you,
Camille Christopher

Kids Heart Challenge Individual and Class Winners!
March 27-31, 2023
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair the last week of March!
A Book Fair serves two main purposes:
- To help instill a love of reading in children by building their personal libraries.
- To raise funds for the Media Center to expand the collection of books for all students to enjoy.
Focus on Books
Scholastic is an educational company that has been around for more than 100 years. A large part of their business is selling books. Because of this, the focus of the fair is on providing high-quality, well-priced books and less on trinkets. At the fair, students will see a broad selection of fiction and nonfiction from publishers. The trinkets are limited to a small sampling of school supplies. Your child will bring home a flier in the coming weeks showcasing a selection of the books that will be featured.
Student Shopping
All students will have an opportunity to shop at the fair Monday, March 27 through Thursday, March 30. Classes will be scheduled to come in to make purchases and parents are welcome to sign in at the front desk and join their child at the appointed class time. Your child’s teacher will provide the specific time in an email to you. If a child is absent, arrangements will be made to come at an alternate time.
Parent Shopping
In addition to joining your child with their class, we will also offer a “parents only” time in conjunction with the All-Pro Dad meeting on Friday, March 31 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Students are not permitted to leave the classroom to shop during this time.
Payment
We accept Scholastic eWallet or credit cards. No cash or checks are accepted. Tax is charged.
Use this link to set up the EWallet: https://tinyurl.com/ewallet23foes
Teacher Wish Lists
In the past, many parents have enjoyed purchasing books for teachers. You will receive an email from your teacher with information about how to contribute to their book fair eWallet to purchase materials for the classroom libraries.
Volunteer at the Book Fair
A smooth and successful Book Fair is not possible without the support of volunteers. Sign up link: https://tinyurl.com/bfvolunteers23

School Board Appreciation Week
Fulton County Schools is joining in a statewide celebration to acknowledge the work and dedication of our local school board members. The week of March 13-17, 2023 has been proclaimed School Board Appreciation Week in Georgia. Each member contributes her own strengths to the district, and these different contributions and perspectives make our Board a formidable group. We thank them for their leadership, their commitment to our students and our community, and for supporting our mission, “Where Students Come First.”

Survey on New Grading Policy
Fulton County Schools has partnered with TNTP, an independent non-profit organization, to learn more about the implementation of the district’s new grading policy. As a part of this project, TNTP is surveying principals, teachers, parents, and caregivers about their experiences with this policy. This survey should take no more than five minutes to complete, and your answers will provide the district with valuable information that can help improve the implementation of the grading policy going forward.
Participation in this survey is voluntary. You can choose not to answer certain questions or stop participating in the survey at any time. Your responses to the survey questions will remain confidential. The data collected through this survey will be included in a written report, but you will not be identified by name or school.
Please click here or scan the QR code to complete the survey. The survey will be available through March 20, 2023.
If you have any questions, please contact Elizabeth Kelly at TNTP, Manisha Maurya at the Fulton County Schools Department of Program Evaluation, or your school principal. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!
