Join ESC Region 2 Service Center in observing Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month, and help us promote appreciation for the field. For the month of April, we will be publishing a Weekly Spotlight on Mathematics to celebrate excellence in the field. Please share our flyer and enjoy!

$400,000 in prizes!

About the Challenge
WHO?
The challenge is for individual students between the ages of 13 and 18.
WHAT?
The goal is to create and submit a short video to explain a big idea in one of these fields:
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Life Sciences
The video can be any style and must be 3 minutes or less. It will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Engagement
- Illumination
- Creativity
- Difficulty
WHEN?
The Competition begins April 1, 2021 at 12:01 AM PDT and ends June 25, 2021 at 11:59 PM PDT.
WHERE?
This is a worldwide contest.
WHY?
The purpose of the challenge is to inspire creative thinking about science and to bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics.
HOW?
To submit an Entry for the Competition, go to breakthroughjuniorchallenge.org, click “Enter” at the top of the webpage and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the application. Learn how to take part.
About the Prizes
There will be one winner and three components of the prize.
- The individual winner of the challenge will receive a $250,000 college scholarship.
- The winner's school will receive a science lab addition or renovations up to $100,000.
- The winner may also elect one teacher who has inspired him/her in the field of science or mathematics. The teacher will be awarded $50,000.
