6th Grade News
The 6th grade team is encouraging our students to start taking ownership for their education. It is hard to believe they will be 7th graders in a few short months, and we want to make sure they are prepared for next year. This includes having them email their teachers if they have questions or concerns, checking their grades in Home Access daily for missing assignments, and emailing their teachers if they are absent to see what they need to do from missing school. Please help us in supporting these behaviors at home, and encouraging your student(s) to do the above.

Rescue Readers Reading Program
Helping Paws Woodstock, IL Animal Shelter has launched Rescue Readers Reading Program that lets kids age 6 and up become a hero as they read to shy dogs and cats to make them more comfortable around humans. The activity has a dual benefit: It increases the animal’s chances for adoption while improving the participant’s reading skills. All Rescue Readers must attend a training session with their parent or guardian. A parent or guardian also must be present as the child reads to the animals. To register and for details, call Helping Paws at 815-338-4400.
