The Lion's Share
September 18, 2023
From the Principal . . .
Thank you to all of our grandparents for joining us for breakfast for Grandparents' Day. We enjoyed having you as our guests.
Thank you to our parents who chaperoned for our 6th grade Science Camp. Our students had a great time learning and creating memories with friends and we couldn't have done it without our dedicated parent chaperones.
Thank you to everyone in our community for donating to our fall fundraiser. The PTO collected $10,386 which 100% of the money will go back into our classrooms. Next week our students will receive their class and school rewards.
Parent/Teacher conferences are this week. If you haven't done so, sign up for a conference. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the incredible learning happening in your child's classroom and to learn details about your child's progress and growth.
Hang in there, fall break is just around the corner!
Keep scrolling for more!
Thanks,
Andrea Emerick
Principal

To ensure that we can communicate with families regarding their children, or in case of an emergency, it is essential that families keep their emergency contact information up to date in their Infinite Campus account.

FREE for 4th Graders
Calling all families with a 4th grader in the house! For an entire year, your 4th grader and your family have free access to hundreds of parks, public lands and seas. Get your pass here: https://everykidoutdoors.gov/index.htm.
Note: The pass is valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year through the following summer (September - August). Overview: https://store.usgs.gov/faq#4th-Grade-Pass
Why fourth graders?
“We chose fourth graders because research shows that kids ages nine to 11 are beginning to learn about the world around them. They’re open to new ideas, and they are likely to connect to nature and our history.
We offer the pass to fourth graders every year. Over time, every kid can get a free pass to explore our country.” Everykidoutdoors.gov
