October 19th - October 23rd
Thank you!
We had a very successful Release Day on Friday! We had the privilege of listening to a panel of students who were gracious enough to give us feedback on best practices and then we worked in our PLCs to review standards, data, and reviewed the assessments for the semester.
Thank you Teachers, Counselors, and Administrators for your engagements in our pull out day!!!

Word of the month: Acceptance
October Celebrations
Filipino-American, Hispanic, LGBT History Month
Hispanic American Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) is when we recognize the contributions made by Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States, celebrating their heritage and culture. It was first celebrated for a week, enacted by President Lyndon Johnson in 1968. In 1988, it was expanded for a full 30 days, beginning on September 15, the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries.
Filipino American History Month
Filipino American History Month was established by the Filipino American National Historical Society in the year 1988. In 2009, it became a nationally recognized celebration in the U.S.
LGBTQ History Month
LGBTQ History Month is a month-long annual observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements first celebrated in 1994. In the United States, it is celebrated in October to coincide with National Coming Out Day on October 11.
Celebrating our Bilingual Students, Wellness, and National Book Month
Celebrating Bilingual Children
October is Celebrating the Bilingual Child Month. A person who is bilingual knows two or more languages and understand multiple cultures. This month recognizes bilingual children. These children act as a bridge between multiple cultures. (nationaldaycalendar.com)
Emotional Wellness Month
October focuses on Emotional Wellness Month. While taking stock of our stress levels, it's an excellent time to make some changes, too. Emotional Wellness Month provides information and resources to help us do just that. (nationaldaycalendar.com)
NATIONAL BOOK MONTH
Each October, National Book Month allows us to celebrate and expand our love of reading. (nationaldaycalendar.com)
October: Bringing Awareness
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. (wikipedia.org)
