Heart disease.
Heart disease is any condition that effects the heart. Some heart diseases are coronary heart disease, heart rhythm problems, cardiovascular disease, any heart defects your born with, and angina. All of which can lead to chest pain, heart attacks, or strokes.
Some causes of heart diseases are
- Smoking is a cause even secondhand hand smoke.
- High amounts of cholesterol.
- High blood pressure.
- High amounts of sugar.
- Blood vessel inflammation.
- Plaque buildup.
- Blood clots.
- Low estrogen levels.
- Diabetes.
- Overweight.
- Lack of activity.
- Unhealthy diet
Some treatment for heart disease are
One possible treatment is stents stents are tubes that are placed in weakened or clogged arteries. The treatment would only take about an hour and after you might have to take blood thinners so you do not get blood clots. Another possible treatment is heart bypass surgery where doctors will take a blood vessel from somewhere in your body and put it next to a clogged or weak blood vessel to your heart to allow enough blood flow to your heart. Another treatment for heart disease is heart valve surgery where your chest will be cut open and a doctor will repair or replace the damaged valves depending on how bad they are.
The risk for heart disease goes up if you
- Are male
- Are old
- Have a family history of heart disease
- Are African American
- Are American Indian
- Are Mexican American
- Smoke
- Have high blood pressure
- Are overweight
- Have diabetes

By studying this disease I have learned the causes of this disease. So I have learned how to prevent heart disease. I have also learned that this disease kills 1 in 4 people. There are a lot of causes of heart disease, but most people choose to ignore them and end up with some sort of heart disease.
