State Testing is a Go for the 2020-21 School Year
Link for AzM2:https://www.azed.gov/assessment/azm2
As testing quickly approaches, we would like to make you aware of some details in regards to your child and Arizona state testing. Students attending grades 3rd – 5th in the state of Arizona are required to participate in state testing to measure learning growth. This year 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will take the AzM2 state test, formally known as AzMerit. This test has one writing section, two English Language Arts and two Math sections.
Here at Anasazi, our teachers have worked hard all year to provide our students with quality instruction based on our Arizona State Standards. We continue to develop our students to become lifelong learners and strive to foster a rigorous, compassionate and inquiry based environment to support their success. Some ways that you can help support that learning include:
· Encouraging daily reading and talk about the books
· Asking your student to explain what they are learning in math
· Knowing about the learning successes and/or challenges your child may be having
· Keeping lines of communication open between you and the teacher
Please mark the dates listed below on your calendar. We are always grateful for your help in making attendance a priority, and it is especially important that students attend school on these specific dates. We ask that you please do all you can to schedule appointments on dates that do not conflict with testing dates. If, however, you do have a conflict, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as you know.
These tests are important in that it helps the state and schools determine the current levels of student proficiency in these content areas. In the past, these scores would help determine the state letter grade for each school. However, this year with school letter grades temporarily suspended, these scores will help determine the impact of COVID-19 on student learning; not only at Anasazi but statewide as well.
Anasazi Environmental Request Form (Optional) - Due by Monday, April 26, 2021
Anasazi Elementary School invites you to provide input into your child’s classroom placement for the 2021-2022 school year here: Anasazi Environmental Request Form (Optional).
We also value teacher input in this process. As a staff, we devote our expertise and time toward creating classroom assignments that ensure a balance for optimal teaching and learning. We will work hard to match these needs with a teacher and classroom environment that will assist in the overall success of your child. By combining this input, we feel that we can provide an appropriate learning environment for every child.
*This is NOT a teacher request form.

What is a tax credit?
A tax credit is NOT a donation! It IS a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the state income tax you pay. If your tax credit contribution is more than the amount of state tax you owe, the credit can be carried forward up to five years. Receiving this tax credit will allow you to reduce the amount you owe the state or increase your refund. When filing your income tax return for the State of Arizona, the amount you designate to your school will be the amount you may claim as a state tax credit. This payment is eligible for Arizona state income tax credit as allowed by A.R.S. §43-1089.01. Tax credit contributions are non-refundable.
Designate your Tax Dollars to help Students of Scottsdale Unified School District #48
It’s a win-win situation for you and the school! Contributions can be claimed on your Arizona State tax return for either 2020 or 2021.
Complete the form below. Thank you in advance for supporting Anasazi and our students.
