Distance Learning

I want to thank our students and staff for their adaptability, and the smooth transition they made to Distance Learning. I have been able to visit some virtual classrooms and it was exciting to see the level of participation (about 90% are tuning in to the google meets each period!) One of the perks of virtual learning is you can see faces, unmasked, and genuine smiles!

No Cost Meals During Distance Learning

To best provide service, pick-up schedule changes have been made to Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) nutrition services program, which will continue to provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to all youth age 18 years and under during and after the transition to a distance learning model. It's More than a Meal Application

Please consider applying for student meal benefits. Your application supports our schools in many ways. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch also receive the following benefits:

● Reduced registration fees for Advance Placement (AP) tests

● Eligible for discounted internet access with some providers

● Discounted rate on fees associated with applying for college

● Free or discounted rates to participate in school sports

Your application also helps support our schools by generating additional funding for a multitude of student programs and services such as counselors, social workers, and additional paraprofessionals to provide direct support to students.

We encourage you to apply RIGHT NOW, but you can apply for benefits anytime throughout the school year if your family household size or family income situation changes.

Applying is easy and confidential.

Tutoring Available

Does your student need homework help after school? MAPS is offering an Online Study Center for all secondary youth (grades 6-12) and sessions are with our MAPS teachers. Sessions are FREE and do not require any pre-registration.

The attached document provides a link and website where students can access the Online Study Center Monday-Thursday from 4-8pm.
