AN ENGINEERED HALLOWEEN CONTEST - 10/31
Reading Incentive
Here is what you need to know:
· Students should read 60 minutes or more every single day.
· Students who turn in completed reading logs 80% or more of the time will qualify for opportunities to be invited to 3 different celebrations.
· Students who qualify by Nov. 4th will be invited to a cocoa cuddle on Nov. 7th (our school election day). You will get to wear PJ’s and sip hot cocoa...you can even invite your favorite stuffed cuddle-buddy to school (they will be your reading partner for the day if they can agree to follow our social contracts here at school).
November 18th- Donut Design Incentive
TTM= 10% of math grade
TTM- Think Through Math
Math Incentive
- Students should complete 2 TTM (Think Through Math) lessons per week.
- TTM constitutes 10% of a student's math grade
- Students that complete their homework will earn at least a C in their math class. Please support your child by checking their homework and staying connected with the Skyward account.
On November 18th we will celebrate student success in completing 2 TTM lessons per week. We will decorate donuts and have hot chocolate during the morning launch period.
Math Bowl
We are very proud of the students from OLS who have earned a spot to prepare for the annual South Cook Math Bowl Competition. The competition consists of four events – two are individual events and two are team events. The team events for all divisions will include various Math Olympiad/algebraic problems and number puzzles for Part A and logic puzzles for Part B. Each group must discuss and answer the problems as a team and each team will submit one answer sheet.
