Hard to believe we have been in school for one month! Our first progress report comes home this Wednesday, September 28. I have sent a DOJO message about parent-teacher conferences. You can also sign up with the Sign Up Genius link below.

Field Trip this Wednesday, September 28
All 2nd and 3rd graders will go to the JAWC for a special presentation, Diggerty Dino

ALL WHITE FIELD TRIP PERMISSION FORMS ARE DUE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27. Field Trip payment plan choice and money are not due until October 4. However, all permission forms must be turned in by Tuesday because our first field trip is Wednesday.
Picture Day is Wednesday!
Old News, but Important
Snacks and Water Bottles
Please send a snack and refillable water bottle each day.
Green Take Home Folders
Please look in your child's folder each night. The behavior log and nightly reading log should always be on the "Return to School" side. Any papers on the "Keep at Home" side, please take out each day.
Homework
The only required homework is nightly reading. Please record the book title and minutes your child reads each night on the reading log.

We can spell and write syllables with a silent e
We can answer who, what, when, where, and why questions about nonfiction text.
We can use the illustrations and key words in a nonfiction text to help understand the main idea.
We can write an equation for addition and subtraction word problems.
We can use a number line to solve addition and subtraction equations.
We can list the characteristics of animal types (birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and mammals.)
We can discuss and write about the life cycle of animals.
