Word of the Month: Communication
Communicate means to be able to share and understand each other's thoughts and feelings. Your challenge this month is to eat lunch with someone new and share what you are thankful for.

Theme: Overcoming Obstacles
Words of the Month: Confidence and Organized
Confidence means a feeling or belief that you, someone or something is good and has the ability to succeed. Organized means to take something messy, chaotic or unordered and rearrange it in a logical manner into a structured or coherent layout. It is the state of being efficient or methodical. Your challenge this month is to clean out your backpack at least weekly and keep it organized.

Wednesday, December 16, 8:30 am - Peer Conflict Mediation - Are you interested in helping others but tutoring isn't for you? Do your friends often go to you for help with a problem? Have you been told you are a good listener? Do you want to improve your conflict resolution skills? Join us in the Counseling Center - J208 to find out how you can improve your conflict resolution skills and the steps to becoming a conflict mediator.
Thursday, January 7 - Test Taking Skills - Midterm exams are just around the corner! Do you find yourself doing well on homework and bombing your tests? Are test scores bringing down your grades? Join us at lunch to learn about some test taking tips that may help reduce your stress on test day. Counseling Center J208.
Thursday, January 14 - Peer Conflict Mediation - This workshop is being offered again during lunch. Did you miss the workshop in December? Please join us in J208 during your lunch period.
Wednesday, January 20, 8:30 am - Organizational Skills Workshop - Do you find yourself misplacing or forgetting homework and classwork assignments? Do you procrastinate and wait until the last minute to complete longer projects? This workshop will help get you organized for the next semester. Bring your backpack and notebooks to J208 ready to get ready to be organized.

Mrs. Ochoa is available in person on Mondays and Tuesdays and every other Wednesday. She may also be reached via email on days she is not on the Las Flores Middle School campus.
Mrs. Sabrina Godshaw will be covering for Mrs. Ochoa beginning in December and will be available M-Th 1:30-4pm and Fridays 8-12 pm or by email at sagodshaw@capousd.org.
