Trojan Times
By: Principal Dufrene (Feb. 1st)
Hi Hampshire High,
Students and parents, I can not emphasize enough how vital it is for all students to make contact with all of their teachers multiple times each week and complete all assignments the best they can in Schoology. Our teachers continue to be flexible and understanding when they hear from their students and are aware of any barriers that may develop during virtual learning.
This week is National School Counseling Week...please take the time to thank our incredible counselors for going above and beyond for our students. A BIG thank you to Mr. Nichols and Mrs. Anderson!!!
Once again, our goal is to have our students back at school where they belong as soon as we get the green light. In the meantime, let's continue to work together through hard work and constant communication.
Hampshire Highlights...
- Congrats to the following soccer players for being selected to the Class AAA All-State Honorable Mention Girl's Soccer Team...Kaliegh Hott, Makenzie Park, and Kellsey Savage!!!
- "Kisses in Winter" sponsored by the Romney Rotary Club begins February 6th...check-out all the awesome virtual auction items on the Trojan Athletic Association Facebook page!!!
Schoology Assignments from Mr. Feazell:
Helpful Hint for Online Classes
💾 Save All Your Work
When you work on something save it before you submit it if you can. If it is something you typed or used paper to write out, make sure you have a copy. Even if it is just a picture.
🗄️ File it in Office 365
You have a OneDrive that will stay with you as long as you are a student in West Virginia, use it to file everything so you know where to find it.
📂Use Folders to Keep Things Together
Create a folder for each class you have and save all the work in that folder. This way you know where it is and can easily find it.
Attached are some easy to follow directions
Online/Virtual Classes are just like in person classes when it comes to turning in work and keeping organized. The more organized you are the easier it will be to make sure you have everything you need to be successful.

Healthy Expectations by Nurse Dante:
It is not known at this time if additional vaccine will be sent to counties to administer at schools. A new process was put into place beginning Monday, 1/25. Any county employee or resident that would like to receive the COVID vaccine, is asked to register at vaccinate.wv.gov or call 1-833-734-0965. County vaccination clinics are being set up beginning next week. Once you are registered, you will be notified when and where to go to receive your vaccine.
School based health services through E.A. Hawse are again available to all county staff.
The location is Romney Middle School 8am-10am, Monday through Thursday. Health Services will also be available at Hampshire High School from 10am-12N once students return to in-person learning.
Students on these campuses can be seen with parent permission.
COVID testing is available to staff and students. Please call the school during the hours listed above for an appointment. We appreciate our staff, students, and parents as we navigate our return to in-person instruction while assisting with staff vaccinations and medical follow-up. Please reach out to your school nurse or health care provider with any questions.
Thank you,
Hampshire County School Nurses
