The Manning Weekly Update
February 11, 2022
Manning Community,
I hope you've had a wonderful week and are excited about the Super Bowl on Sunday! Whether you like football or not, it is one of the most iconic events in our country, including some clever commercials and an exciting halftime show. It's a time for gathering with family and friends, enjoying their company, and hoping your Super Bowl square(s) that you picked, pay off. It's a time to remember that we are all together in this journey of life and a time to relax and forget about the world's issues for a brief moment.
As we enter a new phase of Covid, with the mask mandate in Jefferson County being lifted as of 11:59 p.m. this evening, I wanted to remind everyone that we are all in this together. Some people are excited about the lifting of this mandate and some are anxious about this change in protocol. As you speak with your child/children this weekend, please remind them that each family is going to do what's right for their family. Some students will be wearing masks on Monday, while others will not be wearing their masks. A choice is a choice for a reason. No one should judge anyone else for their personal choices, as it's their personal choice. You don't have to agree with those choices, but my expectation as the principal and leader of the Manning community is that we support the choices of others. We will continue to lead with courage and kindness at all times.
Finally, I would like to address Valentines Day at the middle school level. We are going to have a spirit week next week with a different dress up theme for each day (see the newsletter for more details). I think this is a great way to have fun as a community, without putting emphasis on a day that makes many middle school aged kids uncomfortable. We will emphasize the importance of "love" in this world, while leading with courage and kindness through our spirit days. Monday is a full day of learning and we continue to focus on our primary goal; to make sure your child is safe, and has the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in high school.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Better Together,
Christian Ramaker

ALERT - Important Upcoming Bridge Replacement I-70 & 32nd Ave
Attention Manning Parents and Guardians:
Please review the following information regarding the upcoming bridge replacement construction that may impact your and your student's commute to and from Manning. The project will begin mid-February 2022 and is expected to be completed in the late Fall 2023.
We recommend that Manning Parents and Guardians familiarize themselves with the project details to find an alternate route or allocate extra time if needed.
We are also asking parents to try and minimize the student walking traffic around this intersection before and after school.
The two documents are available in printed form in the main office or in pdf format in the most recent Manning Weekly Newsletter. Please refer to the digital pdf to access the links included on the documents.
Day Without Hate - Friday, April 29th
A Day Without Hate is a student-led, grassroots organization that promotes nonviolence, respect, and unity within our schools. Help your child join his/her fellow students district wide to help end school violence and promote peace. By encouraging students to be tolerant, friendly and kind, and teaching them that there are non-violent solutions to problems, we as a community, can create a better world.
We will be passing out shirts the week of the April 25th, to students in their access classes.
Enrollment / Lottery Updates
Dear Jeffco Public Schools Families,
If you submitted an EnrollJeffco application for your student(s) during the Round 1 enrollment window, we are reaching out to let you know that Round 1 results are coming soon.
After 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 15, you will be able to login to EnrollJeffco and click the “View Choice Results” tab at the top of your homepage. On that tab, you will see all offers received or your position on the waitlist for all schools to which you applied.
If your student receives one or more enrollment offers, you will have three full days to accept or decline before they expire. Once you accept an offer, all other offers will be declined on your behalf. However, accepting an offer does not remove your student from any waitlists or impact their position on any waitlist. If you need assistance responding to your offer, please call the school whose offer you would like to accept.
If you enrolled your student(s) into their current and/or neighborhood school for the 2022-2023 school year, please disregard this message. Your student’s enrollment will be accepted and the school notified of your intent to attend.
If you did not take action in Round 1, your student will be enrolled at their current and/or neighborhood school for the 2022-2023 school year. To view their current enrollment or to apply to another school during the Round 2 enrollment window, please login to EnrollJeffco.
Thanks,
Jade Zentz
