NWEA - MAP Growth Testing Starts Tuesday
Most SHS students will take part in Map Growth testing on September 12, 13 & 14 in the areas of math, reading and language usage. Map Growth is a computer-adaptive test with questions becoming more or less challenging based on a student's answers. This type of assessment challenges top performers without overwhelming students whose skills are below grade level.
Map Growth testing will be completed three times each year - fall, winter and spring - to measure growth over time. In addition to measuring student growth over time, teachers will have access to their students' results right away in order to target instruction appropriately.
The MAP Growth tests include multiple choice, drag-and-drop, and other types of questions. To view and interact with a sample test, visit warmup.nwea.org.
Parents are encouraged to access the complete Parent Guide to MAP GROWTH
Club Day at SHS
On September 5, students learned about the many clubs available during the annual Club Fair held in McClain Hall. Club sponsors and returning club members set up informational tables and were on hand to discuss their club's purpose and activities with interested students. Hundreds of students signed up for one or more clubs and their sponsors were thrilled with the tremendous student interest!
