Our Mission
The mission of Mission Vista Academy is to develop the individual gifts of students in Riverside County and adjacent counties to become critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and innovative leaders prepared for academic and real-life achievement in the 21st Century. The mission will be accomplished through quality, personalized, standards-based education, which could include online coursework, offline textbook work, and unique hands-on and experiential learning experiences facilitated in partnership with students, parents, staff, and community.
Schoolwide Learner Outcomes
At Mission Vista Academy, we have goals for our students that are known as Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs). SLOs are a part of our school culture: they reflect our school vision, the College and Career Readiness Standards, and the education of the whole child.

Sharing the Homeschool Heart
I think it’s time for a new “season” in all aspects of the word. A great start might be to celebrate the first day of fall. This is a great day to restore balance in your home because night and day are approximately the same lengths (balanced!). You can do so by cleaning and organizing your home, as well as solidifying a schedule, routine, or rhythm for your family’s day. Children thrive on regular household rhythms and routines, as do many of us. This is also known as a time of harvest, which is something to be thankful for; thus, this is a great week to focus on the things we are grateful for. Start a list of things you and your family members are thankful for and add to this list as the season proceeds. Eat a fall harvest meal. You don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving to indulge in the comfort foods that come with this time of year. Join together as a family to dress up the table, make decorations, and cook together. Consider a fall-inspired week of learning. Pinterest has a plethora of ideas and ways to add an autumnal flair to the subjects you want your children to learn, from math and STEM Projects to read-alouds, journal prompts, and science experiments.
May the start of this season be a rejuvenating reset, sparking new energy and life into your home and homeschool.
~Robi Frederick, MVA Family Liaison

MVA Virtual Clubs!

Light those fires this week by introducing your students to new ideas and concepts offered up by our amazing homeschool teachers.
There is no need to preregister your students; just show up. Make sure to check out the details regarding each club, so you know whether to gather any needed supplies. However, we have been reassured that if you do not have those supplies on hand; your student can still attend and will still be able to learn and enjoy.

TK-8 Curriculum Showcase Recordings
Over the summer, our South Schools' Family Liaisons joined together to bring our families 'Themed Curriculum Weeks!' Each week had its theme: All-In-One Curriculum, Math, Language Arts, History, Science, and Subscription Boxes. Your Liaisons kicked off each week with a webinar highlighting popular curriculum choices. Additionally, throughout each themed week, webinars were scheduled with curriculum companies to share more about their products. If you missed any of these or if you just want to check them out again, here are the links to the recordings:

Mission Vista Students Are the BEST!

Congratulations Sarah on your accomplishment!
Having only been in Kenpo karate for 1 year, Sarah is already a tournament champion. She placed 1st in her division in February and then 3rd place in July. The July competition was international with participants all over the world submitting their work via video due to Covid-19. Sarah continues to work hard in her karate class and will move up belt rank come the end of September. Her next competition is in October and will again be virtual.

Audrey Everson
Hi everyone! I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ranging in age from 12 to 8 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 17 years. Having homeschooled our children over the last 8 years in 3 different states, I've found homeschooling here in California, especially with Mission Vista Academy, has been a great fit for our homeschool journey. I am grateful for our ability to homeschool so freely and I aspire to assist other families with their own homeschool adventures!
Robi Frederick
Hi there! I am a mom of two girls, 10 and 11 years old, and have been homeschooling from the start. I am also the wife of a very supportive hubby of almost 14 years. We are raising our children in the Coachella Valley and excited to see how the homeschooling community has grown in our area, as well as the resources. I am very grateful that I have this opportunity to homeschool my children. I love to help and encourage families and assist in building our homeschooling resources in the Desert Area.
Andrea Hart
Hello! My name is Andrea Hart, and I am a homeschooling momma of two beautiful girls. Homeschooling has changed our lives for the better, and I can’t wait to help other families learn, grow, and navigate through this extraordinary journey. I'm here to help encourage, guide, and answer any question you may have! I can’t wait to connect with you.
We want to hear from you!
What do you want to hear more about? Drop us an email!
We'd love to answer all of your questions in regards to homeschooling
and learn more about what your homeschool lifestyle looks like!
Our goal is to provide you with the best homeschool program in Riverside County and San Bernardino County...so we want your feedback! If you have any comments, suggestions, or concerns, please let us know!
