7 Mindsets-Passion First!
This month we are helping our kids realize their passions and then how to use their passions to do amazing things! Two of our fourth grade students put their passion of helping animals and giving back to the community together and have organized a “Kitty Cat Drive”. They are collecting cat litter, cat food, beds, and toys. The supplies will be donated to the humane society on February 1st. Please send in anything you can to help our kids with this awesome cause! There are boxes in the front office for collection.
Denim & Diamonds will be held on March 13, 2015! Tickets are on sale now at $50 each! This is a live and silent auction fundraiser event for Mashburn! The committee is in need of volunteers to help sell tickets and secure auction items!
Mother Son is Wednesday, February 4th, 6-8pm! Please join us for an 80's Skate Party at Let's Roll! Tickets are $11 each and includes skating, pizza, and a drink! Arcade games and photo booth available for additional cost onsite!
Father Daughter Dance is Friday, February 27th! The committee will be meeting Tuesday January 20 at 1pm in the Mashburn courtyard if you're interested in volunteering. More information to follow soon!
Family Ceiling Tile Event
We are getting excited about our Family Ceiling Tile Project! Who's in for some fun? Mark your calendars for Jan 20th!!! Mashburn was awarded a grant to provide materials for our parents to leave their mark. We would LOVE for you to swing by between 6:00-7:30 and spend a few minutes with your family painting a ceiling tile. There is no meeting and it will only take a few minutes. We will hang the tiles all over the school!

Honoring Our Heroes
The Forsyth County Council PTA is proud to sponsor our annual Honoring Our Community Heroes writing program. This program encourages students to recognize a real life hero that has been special to them and the community we live in. Students will be able to express their gratitude by writing a one page entry describing how this person exhibits generosity, trust, persistence, dedication, leadership, creativity, caring, bravery, imagination, service, courage, or compassion. Look for information in your child’s Friday folder. Entries are due back to your teacher by Friday, January 23rd. We would love for EVERY student to show an Attitude of Gratitude by telling us about their real life hero! Any questions please contact Chelsea Hill at email@example.com
Blessings in a Backpack
We are collecting canned soups for families in need whose children receive food each week in a backpack through the Blessings in a Backpack Program. This program was started and is managed by students at Lambert High School who wanted to make a difference in the lives of younger students in Forsyth County Schools. Thank you for your support of this valuable program!
