PBIS: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
PBIS is a framework for creating a positive and supportive school culture for all. It is a decision-making system that utilizes data to provide for student needs. At QTES, we have two teams that focus on PBIS. Our PBIS Tier I team consists of teachers, staff, and parents. The purpose of this team is to provide clear schoolwide expectations, positive rewards (Bronco Bucks), and restorative responses that help students learn and follow the expectations. The PBIS Tier II team focus on supports for students who may need a bit more, like social skills groups or a daily check-in with an adult on campus.
Check out our schoolwide expectations!
Broncos are
- RESPECTFUL: Seeing value in all people/things and treating them with care
- RESPONSIBLE: Taking action and understanding the impact of our choices
- READY: Prepared for an activity or purpose!
Using this system at home is one way to support students at school.
Go Broncos!
Important Reminders from the Quarry Trail Health Office
For the health and safety of all our Bronco students and staff we would like to ask that when your student is sick, especially with any cough or congestion they must remain home until their symptoms have improved. Bringing a sick child to school puts other children and staff at risk of getting sick. Students must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medications. A fever is 100 degrees or higher.
When calling your child in sick please let attendance know the symptoms your child is experiencing.
When your child is seen in our school Health Office and they need to be sent home please arrive within 30 minutes. It is important that if you are unable to pick your student up in a timely manner that you have a local emergency contact that is able to pick them up when you are unable to do so. Having sick children in our office for long periods of time exposes many more students and staff to illness. While we regret any inconvenience this may cause, in the long run this means fewer lost work days and less illness for parents.
Cover all coughs and sneezes - wash hands frequently! Get yearly flu shots for everyone in the family. Make sure your child is getting sufficient sleep. Prevention is the best defense we have against illness.
Please keep your child at home for any of the following:
Cough and/or congestion
Runny nose, especially any greenish nose discharge
Vomiting within 24 hours
Diarrhea within 24 hours
Sore throat
Ear pain or infection
Runny eyes, mucus or eye discharge or infection
Rash with fever
Lice and Scabies
Appearance and behavior unusual for your child such as tiredness, lack of appetite, or irritability
Red Ribbon Week Message to Families
October 23 marks the beginning of Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to raising awareness for substance-use prevention. Around the country, students are learning about the importance of saying “NO” to unhealthy behaviors and “YES” to healthy living. This year’s theme is “Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free!”

ELAC is an elected committee of parents, staff and community members whose purpose is to advise school officials in the development of Quarry Trail's English Learner program services.
