Bear Bulletin
Maire Newsletter November 23rd edition
Dear Maire Families,
If you would have asked me back in June what school would be like, I would have provided a different answer than what is playing out. I would have hoped that COVID was a thing of the past, but obviously it is very much a part of our daily life here at Maire. Out staff continues to stress the importance of wearing our masks and keeping our spacing during the day.
We have moved inside for lunch and are continuing to stress with our students to put their masks on as soon as they are done eating. When COVID cases come through and we start doing contact tracing, I do my very best to keep kids in school. Masking and space helps. With our updated bond work we now have cameras in common spaces (hallways, stairwells, and the gym). I am going to the gym footage at lunch so that I can communicate with families how long a child’s mask was off and help partner with the parents to follow the covid guidelines from the county and state. Masking up under 15 minutes is huge. We will continue to do our best to keep kids safe.
Your partnership at home helps as well. Continue to do the health screener daily. Continue to keep your children home if they have two or more symptoms. If their illness lasts more than two days, we ask that you consult with your physician to either rule out COVID or to determine what the ailment is. We know absences are stressful on households, but we want to continue to keep our students and families as safe as can be. When a positive case is identified, we appreciate you informing our office so that we can work together to report it and take the next necessary steps.
Again, this is certainly not the world we wish we’d be in right now. However, with everyone doing their part and everyone being diligent about keeping sick kids home when needed, we will continue to create the safest school possible. We hope everyone has a relaxing break!
Sincerely,
Ryan Francis
proud Principal of Maire
