Incredible life stories, as told by our second graders
All of our second graders participated in the study of famous people of history. The students were engaged in learning about persons who changed history and how we do things today. We had a terrific turnout of family and friends to see and hear about the children's choice of historical biographies. The students' work was admirable!
A great quote for all of us from Jackie Robinson
We are getting ready for the big day on May 7th.
The Badger Exam is Finished! MAPS have begun. . . . .
I am very proud of the work of our third and fourth grade students did on the first Badger Exam. Over the course of two weeks, the teachers led the children through a practice exam, and tests in math and reading. The tests were rigorous and challenging to all. There was a performance exam in math where the teacher taught a lesson to the children. Following the lesson, the children used what they learned to solve the math problem that had various solutions that had to be supported by the students' new knowledge.
This sign told everyone walking in the hall what was going on.
What a terrific faculty and staff!
This past week we celebrated Teacher Appreication Week! The week had a theme based on a book about giving a mouse a piece of cheese and our wonderful parents provided a week full of appreciative moments. We thank them. Above is the staff photo and it serves as a tribute to each one of them who makes our school what it is for your children and our students. Thanks to each of them for what they do at the Merton Primary School.
Happy Mother's Day!
We celebrate a timeless event on Sunday-Mother's Day. Here is a picture of mom and daughter working together on a craft during Muffins and Moms in Mrs. Kircher's room.
I am very grateful for the guidance that my mom gave me and the encouragement to get my homework done, pick up my room, help with the dishes, and be kind to my two sisters. I miss her, yet her spirit lives in me. May you celebrate this wonderful person in your lives! All the best to all the moms out there!
Summer Reading can be a blast!
Please check out this Scholastic Books site for some exciting news that could put some energy into summer reading. Thanks Mrs. Lew for the idea.

I hope you enjoy the smore and the pics. Many cool things are happening in our school. Thanks for your support! The picture on the left is a tree near the 4K playground that was planted by Brownies who are now 27-28 years old. We thank them and their leaders for thinking of us back a few years. It is a beautiful tree!
