Students Raise Money for AVID Scholarships
Students in the AVID program at Mesa Ridge High School raised enough money to give out a total of $1,000 in scholarships to three AVID seniors whose essays on how they have lived up to AVID's expectations were voted the most compelling by the freshmen, sophomore, and junior AVID students.
- Jade Lucero (1st place prize of $500)
- Tashyla Vigil (2nd place prize of $300)
- Savannah Cook (3rd place prize of $200
The AVID program plans on continuing to raise funds each year, repeat the essay contest, and hopefully give out even more money in the future.

Fountain Valley Scholar Winners
This local scholarship goes directly to students in our community, and does not impact their financial aid. Shout out to two speciality winners from our district who also earned the Jules Watson Memorial Scholarship and the Believe In Me Scholarship - Jackson Moore and Cade Murphy. The biggest fundraiser is coming up July 22, the FVS Golf Tournament. We are looking for sponsors to help raise money toward next year's scholarships. For more info, visit Fountain Valley Scholars.
