Almost Anything Goes

Congratulations to first time Student Council Advisors, Susan Mahoney and Nicole Latino for sponsoring a successful AAG last Friday night. The night went extremely well and all who participated had a great time - especially the faculty and parent teams! All proceeds raised will be donated to the Lopatcong Township Emergency Squad.

Nice job, ladies!

Farewells and New Faces at LMS

Last week we said good-bye to our friend and colleague, Sara Greene, as she spent her last day with us before retirement. Although we wish her the best in her future, we will miss her in the halls of LMS. Best Wishes, Sara!

Shannon Troxell also left the Lopatcong family last Friday. She accepted a position in a new school district and we also wish her the best of luck. I would like everyone here to welcome her replacement, Chanda Jones-Willams. You may recognize Chanda as a recent substitute in the district. Chanda comes to us with 10 years of middle school math teaching experience. Please welcome her over the next few days.

Steve Genzale will be out for a temporary leave for few weeks as he recovers from back surgery. Someone who is very familiar around here, Andrea Hartman, will fill his vacancy until his return sometime this February. Please give both our new staff members any support they may need in the coming weeks.

Lesson Plans and Walkthroughs

Thank you to those of you who responded to my comments and questions in your lesson plans. We will continue to give you feedback in lesson plans and would appreciate any response you may have to that feedback in your plans. This dialogue helps us to keep the lines of communication open about instruction in your classroom since we cannot be in your classrooms as often as we would like.

Walkthrough feedback will also begin to be housed in your lesson plans. From this point on, when Kevin and I complete a walkthrough we will post our comments in your planner. If you have any questions on this, please see us.

Literacy Consultant

Finally! Our new consultant will start this Thursday at the middle school. She will also return on Friday of this week as well. Thursday she and I will be reviewing where we are now and where we need to be by the end of the year. Her main role will be in curriculum development with a focus on unit assessments. On Friday, I would like to invite ELA teachers to briefly stop in on their prep if they would like to meet the new consultant. Her name is Chris Wallace and she will be working with us for the remainder of this year. I will keep everyone updated on progress.
