UPDATE FROM YOUR ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

Hello Bulldog Families:

We are in our second week of the semester. First semester and second quarter grades are available online as of today on Parent Connection. Families will also be receiving a copy in the mail this week.


We would like to remind everyone that in an effort to keep our staff and families safe, office hours are now 8:00am-3:30pm. Anyone visiting must wear a mask and be symptom free of COVID. You will be asked to fill out a check in form prior to being let into the office. There will only be one family let in at a time. It is best to reach out to the staff member you wish to speak to either by phone, email, or the Distance Learning Support Ticket to avoid a trip into the office during the pandemic.


Please check this week's upcoming events calendar. We will have Textbook Return for semester classes (Health, Ethnic Studies, American Government, and Economics) on Wednesday, January 13th. We will also be celebrating our December Perfect Attendance Winners on January 13th from 8:00am until 8:45am. A phone call to all families with students that won will go out this week with details. We will be highlighting students by grades during the next two weeks as we are excited to report that we have 205 students with perfect attendance in December.


If we can be of any assistance for any of the topics discussed, please reach out to office staff or administration. If you have questions directly related to your scholar’s progress in classes or grades, please reach out to the teacher directly. There is a staff directory link at the bottom of the newsletter.

SATURDAY ACADEMY

Saturday Academy for academic assistance and attendance repair will begin this Saturday, January 16th from 8:00 AM-11:30 AM. We will have targeted tutoring for English and electives from 8-9:30 AM and assistance with all other academic areas from 9:30 AM- 11:30 AM. Any 12th grader coming to repair their attendance can drop in any time. Next Saturday, our targeted tutoring subjects will be Science and math from 8-9:30 AM. All students who need help with other subject areas can log on after 9:30 AM.

DRIVE THRU TEXTBOOK RETURN INFORMATION

If your student has a semester long class ie: Health, Ethnic Studies, American Government, or Economics, textbooks will need to be returned on Wednesday, January 13 in a drive thru textbook return from 12:30pm-2:30pm.

HOMEWORK HELP AFTERSCHOOL

Do you need help getting caught up with your assignments, getting organized, or help with technology? Come to Homework Help every afternoon from 3:00pm-3:45pm and Wednesday's from 1:00pm-3:30pm. Click here to get the Zoom link. Students must be logged into their San Juan account to gain access.

REPORTING STUDENT ABSENCES

Please make sure to report your student’s absence to the Attendance Office at (916) 971-7550 or email encinaabsence@sanjuan.edu if your student did not attend their synchronous (live) class for the day and did not complete asynchronous (Google Classroom) assignments. Absences must be reported if the student did not attend class for medical appointments, illness, or personal reasons (excused or unexcused). Technology problems must be reported to the teacher and attendance office on that day to be excused. Parents can also report absences in the Parent Portal. For more information click here.
