Havelock North Primary School - 13th December 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora koutou,
Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the Prizegiving assembly last night. Looking at the weather today we obviously got lucky.
There is now only one more get up left in the school year. A reminder that tomorrow at 12:30 pm (Wednesday 14th December) is our last day of the school year. I'd like to express a huge thank you to our whanau. We receive such amazing support from you. Thank you so much. Our students receive a far richer education as a result of your generosity.
For a number of families, this is the end of an era. I would like to sincerely thank you for all you have done for our school over the years.
Mufti Day
$702.70 was raised for the SPCA at last Friday's fundraiser. Today Mrs Burrough took Ava Rose, Poppy and Evie to the SPCA to present the money which was very well received. Thank you for your support.
Freddie's Find
Thank you Freddie. You raised $265 for the Women's Refuge. I know Freddie appreciates everyone who was able to support his cause.
Lost Property
There is a fair amount of lost property in the bin outside the hall. Please check it out as we would love to move it on.
Quote of the week

Google Accounts for Students in Years 3-5
All students in Year 3 and above have their own individual Google accounts that are managed and created by the school. These are used for the purpose of school-based digital activities. Accounts are monitored by teachers to ensure students are using them appropriately.
As of the last day of school, Wednesday 14th December, we will no longer be able to monitor these accounts and will be suspending them for the holidays.
Students who own their own chromebooks will still be able to make use of their device by using a home account or by logging on as a guest.
Google Accounts / Seesaw Transfers for Learning Students
As you know Year 6 students have their own Seesaw account and Google Drive, created and managed by the school, to access school-based digital activities. These accounts are monitored by teachers. As of Thursday 15th December, we will no longer be able to monitor these accounts and will be closing them down.
As your child will be leaving HNPS at the end of this year, you and your child need to decide whether to keep their digital work or to have it deleted.
If you would like to download your child’s Seesaw work please follow these steps.
If you would like to keep your child’s Google Account work we need to transfer documents from the school account to a personal account. This could be a family account or a home account for your child. As your child is not yet 13 they require your permission to set up a personal Google account. Only their documents in their Google Drive will be transferred. No email messages or contacts will be transferred.
The process of setting up a google account is straightforward - the following web address will take you through a set of instructions. https://accounts.google.com/SignUp If you already have a Gmail account set up, that account can be used.
There are many different ways to transfer files from one account to another. This Youtube video explains the process. Watch up up to 7.07. This transfer will need to be done before Wednesday as this is when the accounts will be deleted.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please don’t hesitate to see your class teacher or me.
