Moving this Summer?
If you are moving to a new school or out of state, please email our front office secretary, Stephanie Magill (firstname.lastname@example.org) by the end of the year. This will help give her time to get your student's records together and it will also help with the laptop shuffle. Thank you!
Penny War Totals -- THANK YOU!
Our school raised a Grand Total of $1980.65 during our Penny War Fundraiser! THANK YOU to all who participated.
Pre-K and Kindergarten students were our top contributors bringing in $415.93. They will have their popcorn party this week.
All students will receive a cold treat as a thank yon Friday, June 9th.
Please remind your students to return their library books. We are still missing 78 books!
Summer Learning Opportunities
In addition to this program, our library will be open for school-age visitors who are accompanied by an adult in July Mon-Thurs from 9AM-11AM. We encourage families to take advantage of the opportunity to come in and check out books!
The SMCPS Summer Recovery Website may answer your questions and/or point you in the direction of some extended learning opportunities for your child.
Registration for the 23-2024 School Year
Students who attended Duke in Grades K - 5 through the end of this school year will be automatically rolled into the next grade level. This will also apply to students who are zoned for Duke and attended Pre-K at an SMCPS designated school.
Any person who has a child who meets the age requirement (4 years old on/before September 1, 2023) is invited to submit an application for the SMCPS Pre-K program. This is a full-day program offered to families who meet income eligibility standards. Applicants must provide proof of residency and income eligibility documentation.
Please encourage your neighbors and friends with age-eligible children to investigate this option early. Details about the program and selection process can be found on the SMCPS Website.

Parents and guardians should be mindful of all debt that their students accrue throughout the 2022-2023 School Year. Student debt could take any one of the following forms:
Lost/Damaged Computer Devices
Parents/Guardians play a key role in monitoring not only their student's actions but also their fiscal responsibilities regarding lost/damaged issued devices (such as computers and textbooks) and/or food purchases made by your child in our school cafeteria. Payment can be made in the form of cash or check and should include your child's five-digit Student ID# (e.g., #12345). For further convenience, families may also pay by credit card online at http://www.myschoolbucks.com/. All questions and concerns should be directed to Ms. Toothacker (email@example.com).
