The Scientific Revolution

What was the change?
When people first started to see what they were doing & how they were making & improving telescopes to look at whats out in space they started to question the church & there religion. When the people questioned the church it started to change the church because people stopped coming & the people of the church started to lose faith in God. When this happened the church wanted to stop this conflict so they asked one of the scientist to stop he rejected & the church put him on house arrest & sadly he died of starvation. But thanks to them we now we now more about our world & how it works, we also know more about outer space & because of that information we even got to put people on our moon.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Galileo Galile
Galileo was an Italian math professor who wanted to prove Aristotle's theory of nature wrong. Galileo proved that a bowling ball would fall & land at the same time as a feather would. He also improved the telescope & was one of the ones that made it good enough to observe the sky. He used it to observe sunspots, the moon's surface, & Jupiter's moon. The church did not improve this & asked him to stop he refused to stop his research & was immediately put to house arrest & died of starvation.
Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton said that the law of the universal gravity makes every object in the universe attract to every other objects in the universe. He also says that the mathematical principles of the natural philosophy works like one giant clock. All parts of this clock would work work perfectly together in ways that would express mathematically. Newton thought that God was the clock maker meaning that God created the world like a giant clock that works perfectly together. The way Isaac Newton started studding this was when he was sitting under a book writing in his journal when suddenly an apple fell on his head.
Nicholas Copernicus
The universe was first call the geocentric model, they named it that because in the middles ages people had believed that the Earth was at the center at the universe. According to this theory the sun, planets, & the moon all moved around the the earth in circular orbits. But Copernicus explained that the geocentric model didn't explain movements of the dun, moon, & planets. After studying this for 30 years, he proposed a new model for the universe - the heliocentric model. This model was said that the sun was the center & not the earth. The heliocentric was the first model in over 2000 years. Although Copernicus' work angered religious leaders in the catholic & Protestant churches.
How did the change impact society at the time?
People began to question old beliefs & thought that humans could accomplish anything.
People also began to question the ideas of the Roman catholic church, Nicolaus Copernicus proposes the heliocentric theory. Johannes Kepler then proved Copernicus heliocentric theory & proposed that planets move in orbits.
How is that change evidenced in today's modern society?
We now know more about the planets & other things that are out in space & not just the things on earth. If these important men haven't found out about these discoveries then we may not have all the technology & knowledge we know about today. Even now we use some of their research to help us to build them better.
