We will have our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in the cafeteria with live streaming available on September 2nd at 10:00AM. We will have Sneak-a-Peek following the ceremony from 11AM-12PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get acclimated to the school building, meet their teachers, and see their classrooms. As we continue to plan for the opening of the school year, I encourage you to review the AACPS reopening plan at https://www.aacps.org/fall2021. I also ask that you visit our website to review the Edgewater Parent Handbook as well as our Instructional Schedules.
We encourage everyone to partner with us to ensure all students SOAR to success.
Sincerely,
Kimberly VerMerris
Principal
If you have a friend or neighbor who still needs to register at EES, please let them know registration is online and simple to use.

What should we bring to school each day?
Please send your child daily with the following:

- Home School Folder- we will distribute at school
- Water bottle in lieu of drinking fountains
- Chromebook and charging cord- grades 3-5. Please charge it nightly.
- Pre-K-2 students will keep their chromebooks at home. These students will have a chromebook to use at school.
- Extra cloth masks in Ziplock bag labeled with your child's name.
- Students who have not received a chromebook will be contacted.
Important Reminders
Please screen your child for any COVID like symptoms daily. Any child exhibiting COVID like symptoms, should be kept at home. You may also want to document any pre-existing conditions such as asthma, seasonal allergies etc. in advance with your pediatrician. You can send in a doctor’s note to document this as a medical baseline for our school nurse as not to be confused with COVID like illness. Please call the health room for more information and/or forms for medicine being kept in our health room. Please visit the Reopening and Safety Guide for AACPS for additional information.
Masks are required for all individuals within the school building unless they have an approved accommodation. Students will wear their cloth mask on the bus and at arrival, throughout the school day, and dismissal. Students will have mask breaks while eating, at recess and for PE activities that are high impact. Additional mask breaks will be provided as needed. For additional reminders, please visit the Welcoming Back Students link.
