K-5 Math- September

Zero Unit- All Grade Levels
This year we started the first four days of school with Unit 0. This unit was designed to launch the rules and procedures for math workshop using the icons and language from this math norms poster.
Kindergarten Math
Count Quantities 1-5 Throughout Topic 1, students use the standard list of counting words in order (one, two, three, four, five). They learn to count a set of objects by pairing each object with one and only one number. Students will learn the important role 0 plays in counting. | Cardinality of a Group of Objects Students learn the important concepts that when counting a group of objects, the last number said tells how many objects are in the group. The number of objects in the group is not affected by their arrangement. | Read and Write Numerals 0 to 5 Students read numerals 1 to 5 and use tracing and dot prompts to write the numerals that tell how many objects are counted. |
