HALO HIGHLIGHT
Facility Updates
Dear Saints Community,
Through the input of our faculty, staff, and community, many steps have been taken to improve the facilities here at St. Louis Catholic. Our custodial staff has been hard at work cleaning and repairing many things here on our beautiful campus.
Here's a few things they've been working on:
- The chapel will be receiving a much needed improvement with a new Tabernacle which will allow us to place our Lord in a more centrally located spot in the chapel.
- Coach Painter is fast at work building a Campus Spirit store this year.
- Custodial staff (Mr. Ezra, Mr. Alton, and Mr. John, along with our summer workers) has been pressure washing all the sidewalks and sitting areas on campus, in addition to waxing floors, cleaning fixtures, cleaning walls, changing ceiling tiles, cleaning skylights in the commons.
- Repainting of the gym walls by some of our awesome St. Louis Catholic families!
- Plumbing work is being done around campus to fix issues, in the science labs, athletic facilities, and the Home Ec lab.
- Roof repair will be started soon to fix leaks above the Counseling office, Mr. Buller and Mr. Liz's room, as well as the Dance studio.
- Window repair in the Transitions classroom is underway as well.
In addition to protective measures stated in the Reopening Plan, we have hired a professional cleaning service to sanitize our campus. As always, the health and well being of our students and faculty remain our top priority, and when we do welcome students on the 24th of this month we hope to not only have a scholarly and Saintly experience for our students, but a safe one as well!
God Bless,
Blaine Wyninger
Assistant Principal
Love can build a bridge
As we make final preparations in opening the 2020-2021 school year, the linked reflection and Chaplet of Divine Mercy from renowned musician, Steve Angrisano, expresses the necessity to rely on God, not our own merits.
As we work for Him and through Him, we know that He will honor the work and sacrifice done in His name for our students.
Go Saints Forever!

Spotlight on Curriculum: Closing the Learning Gaps
At the forefront of our planning this year are the potential gaps in learning caused by school closures in the spring. Last week our Department Chairs and Administration participated in virtual professional development by Solution Tree. The focus of this conference was developing collaborative teaching teams within our school and developing a process for identifying essential standards in our curriculum. These essential standards will help drive our instruction, assessment, and intervention and will help close learning gaps by focusing on the most important skills each student must have for academic success this year and in the future.
