Educational Technology Philosophy
Each Child. Each Opportunity. Each Day.
Student Choice
Students engage in a variety of activities that allow access to the standard, but various routes to get there. Similar to a vacation - some enjoying flying to get to their destination immediately while others enjoy sight-seeing, stopping at rest stops to enjoy every minute of the ride.
Student Voice
While students have a set curriculum, student inquiry is equally important. Similar to being a United States citizen, students appreciate the value of their opinions in learning and engagement. I see a tremendous increase in student motivation once students feel comfortable with voicing their opinions on a subject/topic as well providing facts that they may have gathered through their personal experiences. Bridging the gap between student learning and personal experiences further deepens the purpose of obtaining school curriculum.
Examples of Our Projects
Our Website
Students visit our website to access choice boards, games, and content from previous or current lessons. This access personalizes learning for each student as they are able to pace themselves. Choice boards are provided for each unit of study.
Our Gmail Account
Our students are able to access our Gmail account to create presentations, take and create quizzes, or collaborate with other students.
