Steps to Enroll for Dual Credit Courses
- Request the course(s) using the Google Form AND in Skyward 2022-2023
- Complete the Apply Texas Application
- Take the TSI (or meet an exemption)
- Complete the NCTC Registration Form
- Pay for your classes/books (books only for students on F/R program)
- CHECK YOUR EMAILS DAILY -- THROUGHOUT THE DUAL CREDIT REGISTRATION PROCESS IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU REGULARLY CHECK YOUR EMAILS FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS, CHANGES, DEADLINES, OR OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION from Ms. Lewis, LHS College Counselor, or from NCTC.

Click on APPLY TEXAS APPLICATION button above to access the Apply Texas website.
PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO parts to the application:
- Create a profile.
- Create/Submit application.
**PLEASE be aware that there is a mistake on the online application in the PROFILE section!! In the Residency section (page 10) of the Profile, one question asks if you’ve lived in Texas for 36 consecutive months—due to the error, EVERYONE MUST answer NO!
Students taking academic dual credit must have college ready test scores based on courses selected.
All Dual Credit students must demonstrate college readiness by achieving minimum passing standards on relevant sections of an approved assessment instrument. The chart below indicates the assessment and the passing standards as approved by THECB. The following scores are subject to change based on THECB decisions.
TSI INFORMATION AND EXEMPTIONS
Ms. Lewis in the College Room (F207).
Students must score college level on the Math portion of tests in order to take a college level Math course for Dual Credit. Students must score college level on ELAR portions of test in order to take ANY OTHER college level courses for Dual Credit.

LHS will offer one opportunity to take the TSI on our campus. Information regarding TSI testing dates and availability will be communicated through emails. If you are unable to test at LHS, please contact NCTC Testing Center for more options and information.

After you have been notified that you are eligible to take Dual Credit courses, you must submit a Registration Form.
- Do NOT write in section numbers on the Registration Form!
- Be sure you AND your parents sign the form.
- If you do not know or if you forgot your NCTC ID, leave it blank.
Payment is made after you have been registered for courses. Check LISD and NCTC emails!
TUITION: $55 per semester hour (approx. $165 per course)
*Tuition is waived for students on Free/Reduced Lunch program. Be sure you or your family has completed an application for Free/Reduced Lunches for the current year! Click HERE to apply.
BOOKS: approximately $100 per course (ALL STUDENTS --including Free and Reduced Lunch Program students--MUST PAY for books.)
