No Friday Folders This Week
We've been busy working on revising our Opinion Writing so we did not write Friday Letters this week. Instead, please check your child's book bag for important information about our upcoming field trip.
Field Trip
Our field trip to Glacier Ridge Park is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17. Your child has an information sheet in his/her book bag about the trip. It is important that they dress for the trip with long pants, shoes (not sandals), bug spray/sun screen, etc. And they will need to pack a lunch on Tuesday as we will eat at the park.
Parent Survey for Culture of Enrichment
Follow this link to submit your responses to the Parent Survey this Spring. The survey will take only a few minutes of your time, but will provide us good feedback of our effectiveness so far. Thanks for your time. ( Responses will be collected until May 30th)
Opinion Writing-Feedback Groups
We are finishing up our unit of study on opinion writing. This week, students worked on giving feedback to other writers. Now, all writers are busy revising their writing in preparation for publishing.
Creepy Crawly Villages in Math
In math, we are working with larger numbers. This week, small groups were challenged to create a "Creepy Crawly Village" with at least 15 different critters (insects and arachnids) and exactly 1000 legs. We are still working!
Edcamp Kids
We had another successful Edcamp Kids! The students are becoming confident presenters and they are creating visuals that help their audiences learn. We had lots of great topics to teach and learn about this week!
