Roberto Cruz Leadership Academy

**Weekly Update** 01/29/21 Vol. 24

Hola Jaguar Parents and Families!

I hope you are enjoying this long-awaited rainfall and are staying safe under these challenging conditions. Today was our first day of NWEA/MAP testing and we are excited to have started off with success. I want to encourage each Jaguar to do their best on these assessments as you will be demonstrating to us how much you have grown in your learning over the past academic year.

Another related piece of advice that I would like to share with our students is:

“ You do not have to be the best, you only have to do your best.” Oftentimes, we aim for perfection which is typically unrealistic and will have a negative impact on our health. I would like every Jaguar to know that our Staff appreciates you exactly the way that you are, (perfect or imperfect)! What we are aiming for, is to bring out the best in you, so that you are able to achieve your highest potential. We are here every step of the way to support you in this process.

Students- please take a moment to recognize our Jaguar Student of the Month- 9th grader Stephanie Escalante Magana. We are proud of her achievements as she is setting a strong foundation for her future here at RCLA! Congratulations Stephanie!

Lastly, we will have many opportunities in this 2nd semester for students to obtain community service hours. Please feel free to attend any of our evening events, workshops or Cafectios in which your student will acquire 2 community service hours.

LETS GOOOOOOOOO JAGUARS!!!
