spring scavenger hunt: Outdoor Adventures
Home and School is putting together a spring scavenger hunt on the nature trail. The theme is outdoor adventures. Think anything that can be done outside - camping, gardening, playing sports (baseball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, etc.), picnicking, hiking, bicycling, etc.
If you have anything we could use for the scavenger hunt - anything that could survive being outside - that you would like to lend (or give), please email volunteer@salfordhillshsa.org. This would be a perfect place to get rid of your broken or dilapititated or unused equipment or sporting goods.
Once confirming your items via email, you can drop off your items to three of our Home & School board members over the weekend or Monday, April 26th.

Supporting April Showers
Here are the details:
Next Wednesday, April 28 is Wear Your Favorite Color Day at Salford Hills. We're encouraging all students to bring in a dollar (or more!) if in-person or donate online (https://www.classy.org/team/349273). The money we raise we'll donate to SASD's April Showers campaign by the deadline, April 30.
BUT...
On a nice warm day in May, we'll honor the April Showers part of the campaign by having classes run through a few sprinklers. We hope that our SAOA friends will find a way to do the same at their homes send lots of pictures to share, documenting the event and celebrating a worthy cause and Salford Hills' generosity and kindness.
So... would you join us in participating in a worthy cause? Download the refrigerator post below as a reminder.

Heath and Safety Reminders
April 11, 2021
We appreciate your continued vigilance regarding COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. As inconvenient as it may be, please carefully consider your interactions with the extended community, including large gatherings, multi-family engagements, sleepovers, and neighborhood interactions between children, whether they be playing outside or inside. Given national guidance regarding interactions with individuals who are not part of the family unit, mask-wearing is imperative.
Stay home if you:
Please keep your child home if he/she has been in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.
- Have one or more symptoms in Group A OR
- Have two or more symptoms in Group B OR
- Are taking fever reducing medication.
If your child’s symptoms meet the criteria for keeping them home from school, please contact your healthcare provider, inform them of your child’s symptoms, and follow their advice.
If a household member has tested positive for COVID-19, it is necessary for all members of the family residing with that person to quarantine. The District is strictly following household contact quarantine guidelines. Also, please be sure to adhere to the athletic spectator guidelines provided by your school and limit carpooling.
Additional reminders:
Please keep your child home if he/she is:
*NOTE: If you have questions about your child’s quarantine, please call your school’s nurse before sending your child back to school.
- Feeling sick
- Experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. For a list of symptoms and school exclusion guidelines, please see the COVID-19 School Exclusion Requirements found on our Illness Indicators/Sick Day Guidelines Web page
- Awaiting a COVID-19 test result and has not yet been cleared to return
- Quarantined due to a recent close contact with an individual with COVID-19
- Traveled internationally
These practices are a critical part of limiting the spread of this disease in our school community and keeping our schools open. For information regarding COVID-19 cases in SASD, visit the District's COVID-19 Dashboard.
