Howbert Happenings
January 30, 2022
Messages from Principal Lefere
We are in the season of feedback. Below are three opportunities for families to provide feedback about Howbert Elementary.
Your feedback is critical in providing the most complete picture of what we do well at Howbert and what areas we need to improve.
Please take time to give your feedback!
A very useful survey that we ask families to complete each year is the University of Chicago 5 Essentials Survey. We use the information from this survey to make decisions that effect Howbert. Below is a short description of what the survey is and the link to access and complete the survey.
- The 5Essentials® is a research-based school improvement system that defines, measures, and utilizes the most important organizational conditions, including aspects of a school’s culture and climate, to improve student outcomes.
2021-22 Colorado Springs SD 11 Parent Survey

As an incentive, the D11 Board of Education will sponsor an ice cream social (or similar event) for every school that exceeds 40% parent participation in the 5Essentials Survey.
The survey may take 5-10 minutes.
The survey will end on February 18th.
- We would love to hear from you about whether or not you believe Howbert Elementary should move forward with becoming an Outdoor Education Pathway School.
- Please click on the link below for a short slideshow that will provide information about Pathway Schools and a survey through which you can share your input.
NICHE SURVEY

Thank you for spreading the word about the good things happening in our school and across D11!
