Venturing into Online Learning
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during this unusual time. We have a number resources and materials for students via their Google Classrooms to support musical exploration at this time. This is a great opportunity to explore new music, listen to various performances, and develop new skills on your instrument!
Please remember to practice (just a bit) every few days to maintain your embouchure, hand position, playing position, and keep your mind sharp!
If you or your student has any questions or would like additional assistance, please let me know!
I miss my daily interactions with our students and parents! In the mean time, I would love to see/hear recordings of your work, videos of you practicing, at home concerts, and more!
I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Officer and Committee Nominations
Our organization does so much to support the education of our students in Grades 5-12. From purchasing new equipment (snare drum kits for elementary use, mallets, oils, reeds), to supplying funding for our adjudicated events (junior high ensemble members, accompaniment)---the organization is an amazing support group for our music program.
Please consider getting involved! Elections will occur in May.

Mogadore Junior/Senior High Band News
Congratulations, HS Band-OMEA News
Our High School Band did a fantastic job at their OMEA District 6 Large Group Performance at Medina High School on Saturday, March 7. The Band received a Superior Rating overall and I was extremely proud of their I rating in Sight Reading (that can always be so tricky!). This qualified our program to compete at the OMEA State Adjudication in April.
Unfortunately due to the mandates, we will not be competing at State this year---but I know the students would have done a fantastic job!
Bravo, students and thank you for your hard work!
Junior High Solo and Ensemble
I was very excited to share these participants for this year's OMEA District 6 Junior High Solo and Ensemble event! Although the event is cancelled, I feel it is important to recognize their work since January!
Parents: This would be a great opportunity for student's to do an "at home concert" and perform their piece for you! (We might even be able to get the piano accompaniment recorded for soloists to use).

Please check the Google Classroom as I will be putting up videos to start our work on PG 13 with eighth notes!
Percussion should also be starting to work on snare drum technique (if your student does not have a snare drum at home--please let me know and I can try to get something for them)
