VANWAGNEN NEWS

Field trips are exciting educational experiences students and staff look forward to every year. The trips encourage our students to connect their learning in school to real world experiences. These trips are rich with opportunities for students to create long lasting memories.

There are two over night field trips planned with our students this year. The 3rd grade will tour the Mackinac area and attractions in the Upper Peninsula. Some highlights include: Mackinac Island, Mill Creek, Colonial Michilimackinac, and Hartwick Pines State Park. The trip this year is May 23rd and 24th.

The 6th grade students and teachers are preparing for their annual Camp Kimball trip on May 1st-May 3rd. Camp Kimball is a beautiful facility in Reading, Michigan that focuses on outdoor educational experiences in the areas of Michigan history, hands-on science and team building.

Columbia School District is applying to have three (3) of our snow days forgiven, in addition to the six (6) the State of Michigan gives us. Dates for the additional four (4) days we have to make up will occur on Monday, March 11, Monday, June 10, Tuesday, June 11, and Wednesday, June 12. June 12 will be a half day of school. This plan may be amended if we add snow days in the future.

FLU

Please help us at CUES to keep our students and staff healthy. It is mandated that they cannot return to school until they have been without a fever, diarrhea or vomiting for 24 hours. Parent must bring in medication, do not send with your child. Required paperwork is needed. Thank you for your support!

ATTENDANCE HOTLINE!

If your child is absent or has an appointment in the morning, please call the Attendance Hotline at 592-7981. You may leave a message at anytime on the voicemail.
