LHS March Madness

LHS Madness is officially here! This month will be jam-packed with events and competitions, culminating with the big March Madness night on March 31st. Your ticket in to the event is your Red and White shirt, on sale in the School Store for $5. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for announcements about the month-long contests, earn points for your team, and get in the spirit!

Self-Defense Night
The Business & International Studies Academy will be sponsoring a Self-Defense Night at LHS on Thursday, March 2nd from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is just $5 per person. All ages are welcome!
Rising 9th Grade Parent Night

Brave the Shave

Spring Musical
Save the date for this year's Spring Music, Disney's The Little Mermaid! The production, which will take place on March 16th, 17th, and 18th, will feature over 60 LHS students on stage! Tickets are available online at www.showtix4u.com ($10 for adults, $8 for students). Tickets will also be available at the door for $10 general admission.

On February 7th, many LHS students competed in the American Mathematics Competition. Top scorers move on to compete at higher levels against students across the nation!

Track Standout
Mijah Collier recently finished 2nd in the Group 2 State Championship meet in Winter Track. She qualified for the Indoor Track and Field Meet of Champions (held on February 26th) as the 5th fastest seed in the entire state! She also lowered her own school record. On Sunday, Mijah placed 8th in the state in the 55-meter hurdles. This is a fantastic achievement and one of the best performances ever by a LHS Track and Field athlete! Congratulations, Mijah!
LHS Footballers to Play in Sunshine Classic
The Sunshine Classic Executive Committee has selected a handful of LHS football players to participate in the 2017 Sunshine Football Classic! Congratulations to Tanner Adamczyk (DB), Damian Pisarski (FB), Dan Toatley (LB), Krystian Dzeiwa (OL), Jordan Harvey (OL), and Myles Mitchell-White (WR)
The game is used as a fundraiser to help send children that are seriously ill, physically challenged, or abused to Disneyworld, where the children are provided with a full day of fun at no cost to their families.
The game will be played on June 30th at 7:00 p.m. at TCNJ. For more information, click HERE.
Track Stars
The girls track team competed at States in February, where the 4x400 relay team lowered their school record! Pictured at left are Kelli Collins, Cynthia Currie, Mijah Collier, Jen Zoll, Funmi Aka-Bashorun, Sataya Gordon, and Kelsey Holt.

PARCC Assessment Schedule
Attention Juniors
Applications are now available for the American Legion Jersey Boys State (ALJBS), to be held June 18th - 23rd at Rider University. Interested junior males should see their counselor or complete the application sent to their .info account. The application deadline is April 1st.

Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling
The scheduling portal will be available on the LHS website under Quick Links. Teachers will be listed alphabetically within their own departments (English, Math, Art, etc.). To schedule conferences, you will be signing up for an "event" by requesting a "free ticket" to each chosen time slot. EventBrite will also email you confirmations for each conference.

Every FRIDAY is School Spirit Day! Wear Red and White or your favorite Lawrence shirt every Friday.

Special Olympics Volunteers Needed
Community Service Opportunity
The League of Women Voters of Lawrence Township welcomes students interested in performing community service. Assist with voter registration, organize educational presentations, and more. The organization's next meeting will be held on May 3rd at the Lawrence branch of the Mercer County Library at 7:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Lois Riskin (LRiskin@verizon.net) or pick up a flyer in the Main Office!
