Third Grade Update
Weeks of September 29 & October 6
Weekly Homework: Sept 29 & Oct 6
Mrs. Jones/ Phillips Homerooms: This week, students will need to READ FOR 20 MINUTES each night and complete their reading response. Parents will need to sign the reading log each night. Math/ Science Homework (Tic-Tac-Toe- 3 boxes) is due on Friday.
What are we learning?
In Reading, we are creating character maps, inferencing, and identifying character changes. In Writing, we are working on narrative and expository frameworks. We are brainstorming and writing with a purpose. In Math, we are continuing to learn and practice addition/ subtraction strategies and how to show our mathematical thinking. In Science, we are learning about fast changes to the Earth including earthquakes, tornadoes, volcanoes, landslides, and hurricanes. In Social Studies, we are reviewing historical documents, rules and responsibility and we will learn more about our government.

Friday, October 3: Fall BOX TOP deadline Please send your box tops ASAP so that we may count them and turn them in.
Week of October 6-10: Early Dismissal Week & Parent Conferences
Please make plans for early dismissal at 1:00 p.m. each day.
Contact your child's teachers if you have not scheduled a conference.
Monday, October 13: No school/ Staff In-Service Day
Friday, October 17: Fall Festival If you have donations for the Fall Festival auction, please send them to school ASAP.
- Parents must sign their child's agenda EVERY night and Communication Binders must be returned each day.
- Please send a snack with your child each day.
- Each day students should bring: snack, water bottle, jacket (if needed), binder, homework/ reading log
