SCA Parent Letter

April 30, 2015

Due to Dutchfest set up behind the school, parents picking up elementary students after school tomorrow should pull in front of the elementary entrance, NOT the playground area. All students riding home on the bus will board at the high school (main) entrance. Thanks for your cooperation in helping to ensure the safety of our students.

Students staying after school Friday are not officially supervised unless assigned to a specific project. We ask that students return home after school, and then accompany their parents to Dutchfest.

There will be no school for students Monday, May 4th. The main office will be open from 9-3.

Next week is National Teacher Appreciation week. Remember your student’s teacher by sending a note of encouragement and thanks.

Announcements are due to Kathy Grove, by Monday, May 4th. This would be a good time to list school uniforms you would like to sell.

The annual room mother hoagie lunch this year will be Wednesday, May 27th. Please note that it needs to be preordered and it is included on the May lunch order form.

Enrich the life of your family and the life of a student by hosting an international student for the school year. Click on the link at the end of the parent letter to find out more!

Alumni Tent: We invite all Shalom alumni to visit our alumni tent. Alumni who register are

eligible for prize drawings.

Dutchfest Line Dancing Event: This is the second year for this interactive event that will be held Friday evening, from 8:45-9:30 PM. Shalom alumni Carly Hill and Caleb Plum and Shalom student, Katy Toporzycki, will be our instructors. We especially want to invite alumni, Shalom students and their families to join in the fun.

Help needed after Dutchfest: Help would be greatly appreciated to take down tables and chairs immediately following Dutchfest on Saturday. If you are able, please plan to stay briefly and help us.

Dutchfest Children’s Activity Wristbands will be available for purchase at the information booth or the table in the middle school hallway.

Dutchfest yard signs: Thanks to everyone who displayed signs to promote Dutchfest. After the event, don’t throw it away—return it to the school. We will put stickers with new dates that can be used next year.
