Taking Care of Your District Equipment
Taking care of any of your technology devices will help increase longevity and performance.
Top 5 Easy Ways to Take Care of Your Laptop/Device
1. Carry your laptop in a bag, backpack, or case. This will help prevent cracked screens or dropping and jostles.
2. You can clean your screen and keyboard- but only use approved solutions or wipes.
3. Take your laptop in the store, supermarket, or cafe with you. DO NOT LEAVE it in your backpack in your car as it becomes an easy target for theft.
4. Keep your laptop out of long periods in direct sun or heat. Do not place on towels, blankets, pillows, as vents are often on the bottom and required stay clear to keep the device vented.
5. Remove USB drives/dongles/ adapters when putting laptops in bags or backpacks.
Each year, CVUSD loses approximately 20 staff laptop devices due to negligence. (~$30k)

Laptop, Projector, Document Cameras and Chromebook Replacements
Many of you have inquired about when replacement and new equipment is available for you. We will be pushing out as much new and replacement technology that our budget and your school budget can handle (not as much as we would like). Of course, it will be prioritized on a needs basis, and we will be working with your administrators to determine high priority needs.
If your equipment in your classroom needs a fix or you have trouble operating a device, use IssueTrak (see what makes a good IssueTrak up top).
If you feel that you need NEW or Replacement equipment, you need to talk to your administrator for approval.

How many of you have changed your passwords recently??
Do you remember reading about how personal information stolen from various companies? Personal information such as passwords were stolen and are being used in sophisticated attacks to crack accounts. Changing your passwords frequently is one of the best ways to keep your accounts secure and creating strong secure passwords will help your accounts from getting hacked. A strong password is a minimum of eight characters and will include CAPITAL letters as well as spe$!Al char@c7ers. If you have not changed your password in over a year, it is strongly suggested that you change it today!
How do you change your CVUSD Password? Use the following link from the District Website (Staff-->Directory Update --> click on Password Management Tab) : Change Your CVUSD District Password Here!
