Discover OU - Freshman Field Trip

On Friday, February 13 we braved the cold with the Class of 2018. Students participated in a discussion about the Oakland University Admissions process and student panel. Academy students asked great questions and even had a chance to take pictures with the Grizz! After the presentation we went on a 90 minute tour of campus including Residence Halls, the Recreation Center, Library and several other buildings on campus. Last but not least we enjoyed a very fulfilling lunch in the Vandenberg Dining Hall.

Oakland Schools Technical Campus - OSTC/OTEC

Mr. Randy Maddock from the Pontiac NE campus of OSTC came to talk to 10th and 11th graders about the different educational options available for next year. OSTC offers 7 clusters at their Pontiac campus: Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Engineering/Emerging Technologies, Health Sciences, iTEAM, and Transportation Technology. Students must be in the 11th or 12th grade to participate in a CTE program. Avondale provides transportation to the Pontiac campus only for afternoon classes. Students interested in am classes or another OSTC campus must provide their own transportation.
