Writers Camp was an amazing opportunity with great learning intentions and so much knowledge to take away from this experience. We had delicious food, night walks on the beach and chill time in the lounge. We learnt about the history of CastlePoint and all the interesting things that happened back in time, how to conjure up our hidden imagination with our micro story ideas and all sorts of different genres of writing techniques. On behalf of all the writers camp students we really want to thank Mr Veale and Georgie for coming on the trip with us and organising such an amazing experience for us to get our creative minds flowing.

On the 27th of October Masterton Intermediate Schools Rock Band travelled over to Paraparumu to perform in the “Battle Of The Bands” competition. We had performed 2 songs which were

“Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen and

“Heart Of Glass” by Blondie.

We were all quite nervous because there were around 25 other bands competing and some were very talented. We did our best and had a great day. One of our guitarists, Stephen Price, won an award which was pretty cool. Thanks to our Principal and the MIS team for supporting us and making this opportunity available.
