NEWS FROM MR. PAPES
Alto Families,
Happy Halloween! It was a fun day at Alto Elementary with Halloween costumes, parties, treats, and activities. We certainly missed the excitement of having families in for our all school parade that we would normally host, but our students still had a great time. We are posting pictures that capture some of the fun! Have a wonderful weekend and a fun and safe time with Halloween!
Sincerely,
Paul Papes
Principal

Hello from the Art Room!
We have been very busy these past weeks! Some have finished past projects, such as the darling clay cat sculptures (Ceramics) from Third grade, and the beautiful stitcheries (Textiles)from the fourth grade students.
Kindergartners have been exploring a variety of materials and manipulative motor skills, while studying the Element of Art, Shape. These are fabulous designs which I believe you will find to be frame worthy.
First grade students are in the middle of a combined Textiles and Print-making unit, which are inspired by a sweet little story called, “Oma’s Quilt”( found on youtube). The quilt squares they are creating have a very special meaning and I know your child will be excited to tell you about it.
Second grades have completed their unit on Paper Sculpture and along with third, fourth, and fifth grades, are beginning Drawing lessons.
I pray your families remain safe and healthy. Remember that Art is a helpful way for children to express their thoughts and feelings. I encourage you to have as many supplies at home as possible. I have strong hopes that we will continue to make our Art together in the classroom. If we were to move to a virtual Art class, we will still be creating beautiful and meaningful work.
I am joyful to be teaching Art to your children!
Artfully yours,
Anna Marie Schoen-Carabellese
